Carpenter/Joiner

Based in the Leeds/Yorkshire Area.

Full time, permanent 37.5 hours per week – Mon – Fri.

Salary - £32,000pa.

Fully funded company van provided.

The role

We have a great opportunity for a Carpenter/Joiner to join our team. In this role you will provide a comprehensive service to all Orchard Care Homes within your region. Communicating and interacting with all employees and residents ensuring that you’re Orchard Care Homes are kept in good condition both inside and out. Providing support to the Maintenance Manager on the day to day responsibilities of the maintenance team.

Carpenter/Joiner - Essentials

  • Experienced (Time served) Carpenter and Joiner with a proven track record of domestic and commercial works.
  • Trade qualifications, NVQ or City Guilds Level 3 and above. (NO CSCS Card needed)
  • Experience of maintenance, repair, and installation of Fire Doors (desirable)
  • Basic numeric and good record keeping skills.
  • IT literate – use of email, APP based technologies.
  • Clean driving license, with flexibility to travel and working away from home if needed.
  • Basic Health and Safety knowledge.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Approachable and friendly, able to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, able to plan and priorities own workload

Our Role

Although the role is fundamentally an individual role, you are an essential member of the Orchard Care Home team and will be interacting and communicating on a regular basis with all the wider Maintenance team, the Purchasing team, residents, relatives, Home Managers, staff within each home and external contractors.

As the first point of contact for the Maintenance Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring that all planned and reactive repairs and maintenance tasks are carried as efficiently as possible and to the highest standards as required by Orchard Care Homes.

  • Undertake 1st and 2nd Joinery.
  • Maintain, repair, and install fire doors as and when required.
  • To work on projects, carrying out joinery works, installing kitchenettes where applicable.
