Veteran Resident Invited to lay Wreaths for the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Kohima

Penwortham Grange & Lodge resident Eddie was invited to lay wreaths for the 75^th Anniversary of the Battle of Kohima and Imphal.

The event took place in York city centre and seven veterans were invited, these men represent a generation of courageous men who were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in the face of terrible aggression.

It was a very special day and meant a lot to those who attended, particularly the veterans. Eddie was very happy as Prince Andrew was in attendance, and he had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with him.

Eddie gave a lot of interviews and felt honoured, his daughter Jane commented saying ““Dad had a good time in York and was treated like a VIP at all times.  It was an enjoyable, but emotional day.”
