Armchair-based fitness classes, provided by Pulse Fitness, have been  taking place at three homes across the North East  and West  Yorkshire.  Residents regularly attend the classes, which last around 45  minutes each. The classes involve the use of both small and  large  sponge stress balls, as well as elastic bands for stretching.  Activity Coordinator for Green Lodge, in Teesside, Emma Kemp says: "The residents thoroughly enjoy it and can’t wait for  the session each month."  Jade Frudd, Activity Coordinator for Middleton Park Lodge, in Leeds, adds that the positive effect of the classes is long-lasting: "Residents always enjoy the classes and all get involved the best that they can. It leaves them all in a lovely happy mood all day long." Classes are gaining in popularity, and it isn’t just due to the health benefits, but the opportunity for socialising that the classes offer. Claire Phillips, Activity Coordinator at Archers Court, In Sunderland, says: "It’s a good social activity for everyone and it’s really nice that we can all join in and get exercise, and find something that we all enjoy."
