Residents at Cherry Trees Care Home Cook Up a Storm

Residents from Cherry Trees Care Home welcomed in volunteers from the local community to cook with them.

Jo from the local community centre Wah Hong Association visited Cherry Trees with a couple of volunteers and helped both staff and residents cook a scrumptious Chinese meal. Residents Helen, Margaret, Ellen and Pat helped with a bit of the cooking as Margaret said, “many hands make light work,” but it wasn’t long before they sat back and relaxed whilst being waited on by the staff.

Helen loved the whole experience as it took her back to when she used to cook traditional Chinese dishes for her family, she told everyone that she missed this a lot and was grateful to get the chance to do this again. Everyone was very impressed with the yummy meal that was made and they thanked the volunteers for their help.
