Resident from local care home enjoys first day out with family since COVID-19
Jean Evers from Cherry Trees in Kimberworth Park, Rotherham, was the first resident to venture out of the home and enjoy quality time with her granddaughter following the easing of COVID-19 guidelines.
Jean thoroughly enjoyed her time away with her granddaughter Claire and made the most of their first time back together. They caught up on all things new from the past year over their favourite fish and chips in Claire’s garden.
Jean summed up her adventure “I’ve really enjoyed spending time with my family after the year we’ve all had. Seeing Claire made my day and I can’t wait to see her again soon.”
Staff member Ryan made a wonderful balloon display and Jean popped the ceremonial giant balloon to celebrate the start of visits away from the care home. Sharron Whaley, Home Manager, commented “As a team we are so happy that outside visits have commenced as it’s really important to us that our residents can continue to be part of the community and visit their family and friends. We have been facilitating indoor and pod visits so it’s great for our residents to now spend time away from Cherry Trees with their family and friends.”
