Langfield’s Very Own Board of Directors

edit_10.jpgLangfield Care Home recently discussed exciting projects after appointing a group of residents as their board of directors.

At Langfield, residents are at the heart of everything they do which is why they have assigned 5 of their residents as the board of the directors within their home. These directors are the voice of the residents and the final decision-makers when it comes to changes happening within the home.

In their first board meeting, the hot topic was upcoming funding for the “Langfield Express” and signs for the courtyard, as the aim is to transform the courtyard to make it look like a shopping village. The board members were all on board with this idea and agreed that it will encourage more visitors to come to the home.

They all said they couldn’t wait for the opening of the “Langfield Express” and the village shop, with one of the residents on the board saying “I think the train will feel quite relaxing, especially when looking out at the scenery it will be like going on a real train.”

All the members agreed with this and said, “this is something to look forward to and will be a great experience for all residents in the home, especially dementia patients.”

Giving residents the chance to have an input into what is happening within the home makes them feel more included and comfortable, it encourages the viewpoint that it is a home away from home.
