Kelly from Langfield Makes a Difference
Kelly Howarth, who works at Orchard Care Homes’ Langfield residence in Middleton, Greater Manchester, was recently declared a winner in the company’s Making a Difference Award scheme.
She received this award after a nurse from the local hospital took the time to phone the home to commend Kelly for the support she provided when escorting a resident to her appointment. She commented, “The care she showed to the resident was something I don’t see often, and the fact Kelly knew important details about the resident and the care they required was like she was family.”
Home Manager, Victoria White, was incredibly proud to reward Kelly and acknowledge her achievements. “The dignity and respect that Kelly shows each and every resident in her care is something very special. She makes an amazing difference to their lives and is a credit to Langfield. Thank you for the amazing difference you make.”
The Making a Difference initiative is aimed at retaining existing staff and attracting new recruits into the sector. Hayden Knight, CEO at Orchard, said “We cannot provide the high level of care that we do for our residents without our dedicated team of care professionals. It’s not an easy job but certainly a rewarding one and we hope that by receiving acknowledgement that their efforts have been recognised will incentivise all care staff to keep on going that extra mile.”
