Green Park Take On Cereal Idol

Fun fills Green Park Care Home as they partake in a cereal tasting competition

The Warrington based home had a residents meeting to find out their opinions on the food options that are available within the home, this allowed residents to voice their opinions and helps to ensure that the food available is tailored to their needs and wants.

During this meeting it was decided that although everyone is generally happy with the options available, most mornings breakfast consists of the same food, this sparked the group to start a food idol series.

The first part of this series comes in the way of “Cereal Idol”, as a group they all got together and tested out a variety of different cereals that they do not currently offer within the home. Some of the cereals that tried were, shreddies and allbran. One of the residents laughed, “We even went a little crazy and had coco pops!”

Activity manager commented positively on this activity and said “this was a great session for our residents and gave them the opportunity to make a decision on what they would like in the future.”

The activity left smiles all around and everyone had heaps of fun trying out the various cereals, in the end there was a general consensus and the winner was announced as Cheerios! Good choice Green Park. We can’t wait to see what the next series of Food Idol consists of.
