Green Park Host a set of Christmas Parties

green-park-care-home-christmas-day.jpgWarrington care home, Green Park got festive by hosting three Christmas parties for different units in their home.

The home had the honour of welcoming five different entertainers into their home, the Cavendish unit saw entertainer Carl Gordon visit, Carl sang a range of songs for residents and even managed to get them up on their feet singing and dancing. Ivy commented on how great she thought Carl was and thanked him several times for coming. Once they had tired themselves out from dancing they moved on to playing pass the parcel with Carl joining them, he had them all giggling all throughout with his great jokes.

The Kensington unit celebrated Christmas with the king of music, Elvis! Residents were very excited to welcome their special guest and couldn’t wait for the fun to start. Once Elvis was in the building residents were up on their feet dancing away to all the classics with great big smiles on their faces. Residents families joined in the fun and loved seeing their loved ones so happy. They ended the day with a selection of buffet food and drinks before Elvis left.

Balmoral Unit spent the day preparing for their big party by decorating the home and brushing up on their singing skills. Their party saw Mark Hemmings come and perform, Mark performed some classics including Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, as it was residents Ken’s birthday they also sang Happy birthday to him. They wrapped up their celebrations by tucking into Ken’s birthday cake.

The Windsor Unit welcomed Phil into the home, alongside the friends and families of their residents, Phil showed residents his Strictly Come Dancing movies and they sure were impressed. They enjoyed a buffet tea with lots of chocolate cake and a small shandy, Letty told the staff that she had a great day and really enjoyed herself.

The home ended their celebrations with a party for the Devonshire unit, they were joined by Teresa who got everyone in the festive spirit with her performances. Families of residents came along to the party and joined in which put a smile on everyone’s face. The day ended with a session of karaoke and a selection of treats in their afternoon tea buffet.
