Cream Tea at Green Lodge Care Home

Green Lodge Care home, treated their residents to cream tea to beat the Monday blues.

In the lounge of the Billingham based home, the staff set the table with some pretty vintage China Dishes and yummy treats. There was a selection of cream cakes on offer alongside tea and other refreshments which went down a treat, resident Gladys said: “Vanilla slices are my favourite cream cake, and I haven’t had one in so long, so it was a nice treat.”

The group enjoyed the relaxing afternoon and loved being able to have this experience, resident Beryl said: “It was lovely to drink tea from a proper China Cup, it was such a nice thing to be invited to.”

Alongside the food, the group also got the chance to enjoy some dance hall music and share stories about their lives. One of the attendees Jean remarked that It had been a while since she has felt up to being in the company of others and she was so happy she had decided to take part.
