Cherry Trees - Visit Elsecar Heritage Centre

Residents from Cherry Trees Care Home in Rotherham had the pleasure of enjoying an interactive exhibition.

Ethel was born and raised in the area so she loved being in the centre. She remembered many things about the place and didn’t hesitate in sharing these with the rest of the group which they loved. Ethel told them stories about her childhood and how she spent her early years and it was clear to see that recalling the memories bought a smile to her face and a sparkle to her eye.

The group all agreed that the most interesting part of the day was the interactive exhibition about the Earl of Fitzwilliam and how his family looked after the people of Wentworth and the surrounding villages. The trip was both educational and fun with residents saying they would love to go back and visit again.
