It's Nutrition & Hydration Week - seven dynamic days dedicated to promoting the importance of positive and healthy nutrition and hydration to our residents and their friends and families.   With each day a different theme, looking at everything from a full, balanced and essentially tasty breakfast, to enticing mealtime experiences throughout the day, such as Afternoon Tea, the plan within homes is to bring the themes to life each day.   Monday - Big breakfast Tuesday - Supper Time Wednesday - Afternoon Tea Thursday - Thirsty Thursday Friday - Fruity Friday Langfield Care Home in Middleton, Manchester, led the way on Monday, hosting a ‘Big Breakfast’, which was supporrted by Orchard Care Home’s food and beverage supplier, Bidvest. The residents and staff at the home were entertained with a morning of baking activities and other events. Dianne Lilley, Orchard Care Homes' Food & Beverage Manager said; "This week is a great opportunity to add a boost of energy to mealtimes, for the staff and for the residents. We have lots of fun activities planned across our homes, and have been working hard to raise awareness of the importance of promoting healthy and appetising mealtimes. The Big Breakfast was enjoyed by everyone...thankfully I didn't need to dress up as Tony the Tiger from Kellogs!'
