Ashlea Mews Prepare for Denim for Dementia Day
Residents from South Shields Care Home, Ashlea Mews have been busy preparing for their Denim for Dementia Event.
The staff and residents decided they wanted to do something to raise awareness and to let all of their visitors know that they were doing something special for the event ahead.
They came up with the idea of painting letters on to denim and to then create a display from them. A number of the residents got involved and had great fun whilst doing so, Brenda told staff, “I really loved all of the cutting and painting.”
Once they had finished painting the letters on, they took their pieces of denim and hung them up from a washing line outside the lounge area of the home. The session was great fun, Ellen loved getting involved and said, “I really enjoy anything to do with arts and crafts.”
