Throughout the summer, many residents enjoy getting out into their local communities to soak up the culture that museums have to offer. A recent trip taken by residents from Cherry Trees in Rotherham saw residents Renee, Betty, and Mavis, visiting nearby Clifton Park Museum, which focuses on the environmental and industrial history of the borough. The group enjoyed a walk round the museum, taking in exhibits such as the ‘Early Rotherham’, the ‘Victorian invention and innovation gallery’, and ‘Rotherham Rocks. After admiring what was on offer, the group finished off with a cup of coffee and slice of cake in the museum’s café. Activity Coordinator Lisa Webster commented, “It is so important for residents to feel connected to their local communities, and the museum is a great little place that we love to visit, as it tells the history of the local area in a stimulating way. We will definitely be visiting again.” To keep up to date with news from the home, follow us on Facebook and YouTube.
