Two Lancashire homes have been awarded 5-star food hygiene ratings by their local authority. Chorley Lodge and Penwortham Grange & Lodge have both been placed top for food hygiene. Both now join their four sister Lancashire homes, Longridge Hall & Lodge, Langfield, Fleetwood Hall, and Haslingden Hall & Lodge. The ratings are based on inspections given to catering businesses, and reflect the standards of food hygiene found on the date of inspection, or visit by the local authority. The ratings assess: How hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored The condition of the structure of the buildings – the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities. How the business manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe. Comments Dianne Lilley, Food & Beverage Manager at Orchard Care Homes, “This is great news for the teams at both homes and I am delighted that all six Lancashire homes have received top marks in their latest inspections. Our kitchen teams work hard to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, and it is good to see this acknowledged and rewarded by the Local Authority.” To keep up to date with news from the home, follow us on Facebook and YouTube.
