The 15th June marks National Cupcake Day in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society, and people up and down the country will be taking part to raise awareness and funds for those living with dementia. Many of our homes have signed up to take part and have been making and selling their own cupcakes within the home throughout the week. The staff at Orchard Care Home’s Central Office, whisked up a charity cupcake sale to raise money for the cause. Members of staff baked a selection of cakes, including Red Velvet cupcakes, Chocolate Fudge Brownies and summer inspired Strawberry and Ice cream cupcakes. Throughout the day, staff tucked into tea and cake raising funds for Charity which will contribute to a person living with dementia to attend one of the Society’s Dementia Cafes for two months, or for five people with dementia to attend a Singing for the Brain session, enhancing wellbeing and connection through music.
