Riverside Residents Rejoice in The Queen's 90th

This weekend, Windsor Castle will hold a ceremony each evening honouring the Queen’s 90th birthday, with Her Majesty herself attending on the final night. In the lead up to this event, many of our homes have been celebrating the occasion throughout May. Residents from Riverside care home in Barnsley recently celebrated with an indoor street party at the home, including a buffet, chocolate fountain, popcorn machine, and entertainment. The event was well-attended by families and grandchildren.  Lauren Mooney, Home Manager, commented, “Thanks again to Shirley, the daughter of one of our residents, for helping us with the event”. In light of the event at the home, the team at Riverside decided to submit some British and royal-themed artwork to ‘The Senses’, The South Yorkshire Dementia Creative Arts Exhibition. The event took place this week across a number of venues in Barnsley. We plan to share photos from the exhibition soon.
