Resident from Green Lodge care home enjoys first day out with family since COVID-19

John Kelly from Green Lodge care home in Billingham, Teesside, was the first resident to venture out of the home and enjoy quality time with his son following the easing of COVID-19 guidelines.

John and his son Mark made the most of their first time back together and caught up on all things new from the past year over coffee and breakfast at a local restaurant.

John summed up his adventure “It was great to get outside and spend time with his son like we did before the coronavirus. It’s been lovely to get back to some normality and I look forward to more time spent with my loved ones in the very near future.”

Home Manager, Mandy Cooper, commented “Seeing our residents spending one-on-one time with family once again has put everyone in the home in high spirits. As we watched John with his son leave for their day out, our hearts filled with joy and happiness.”
