21 October 2019 News

Staff and residents from Cherry Trees Care Home got dressed in pink clothing and raised money for Breast Cancer Now charity.

Julie who is a Senior Care Assistant at Cherry Trees Care Home was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, she is now in remission so the home is supporting her by raising money for Breast Cancer Now.

Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 and has gone through chemotherapy, radiotherapy and an operation. She has since rung the 'end of treatment' bell twice, the first being after her chemotherapy and the second after her radiotherapy. Julie has recently had a mammogram, the results of this were positive and Julie continues to be in remission.

Julie is a truly remarkable lady and is an inspiration to everyone in the home. Both residents and staff wanted to honour her and raise money to help others get the help they need. The home organised cakes to be sold to raise funds and accepted any further donations from their visitors. The staff also dressed up in pink clothing to support the cause. They managed to raise a total of £30.00 for the amazing charity.
