It’s officially winter with the cold season drawing in however, there are still some glimmers of sunshine creeping in and residents at the Green Lodge in Billingham were determined to make the most of it.

As a part of the Oomph Wellness Service who provide outing services for our residents at Green Lodge, the residents took a day trip to Stewarts Park in Middlesbrough and soaked up the last few rays of sunshine. “The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed some autumn sunshine.” says Emma Kemp, Activities Co-Ordinator at Green Lodge.

Residents had a relaxing stroll around the 120 acre park (well… maybe not all of it, that wouldn’t be very relaxing!) The park provides woodland, lakes and the residents favourite, a pet corner. Featuring a variety of animals, the residents got up close with animals such as: Highland Cattle, Fallow Deer, Goats and Llamas.

Ray, one of our residents on the walk said he “loved being in the park and the wildlife was lovely.” Edna also loved the wildlife and saw a number of squirrels too, although “They were camera shy” Edna added.
