Senior Care Assistant (Days)

£9.75 to £11.05 per hour (higher rate upon proof of required qualification)

Location - Stanhope parade , South shields , NE33 4BA

Introduction to the role

The Senior Care Assistant plays an active role in care planning, clinical governance, quality of care and medication management throughout the home on each shift. You will lead a team, ensuring each individual receives the person-centred care they deserve.

We are looking for individuals with previous care experience, ideally within Older People’s care or within a dementia setting. Whilst it’s not imperative that you have a Level 3 qualification in health and social care, you need to possess your Level 2 and have a desire to achieve your Level 3 via our career pathway. This position  requires you to work as part of the team giving personal care to individuals.

You will be an ambassador of Orchard Care Homes, liaising with GPs, health professionals and the individuals’ families and friends, always promoting a professional and caring image of the home. Via our Orchard Academy, you will receive bespoke training and receive support to develop your leadership skills, clinical knowledge and become an advocate for our leading care services.

Main Duties

Providing leadership to the staff team which develops practices and ensures company policies and procedures are followed in full.

To assist with the formulation and delivery of the individuals care plans.  Work as an integral part of the caring team, to deliver the highest standards of person centred care, to people who are living within the Home.

To support people  based on individual ability with all aspects of personal care including toileting, bathing etc. following individual care plans carefully and ensuring that all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive. To act as a key worker for a named group of people, ensuring that care is delivered in line with their personal needs and preferences.
