Practice Development Nurse

We are seeking an exceptionally motivated individual to join the team as a learning facilitator who can coordinate and plan our staff development. This is an exciting new opportunity for a senior RGN with clinical nursing experience of at least 5 years to demonstrate their enthusiasm for practice development.

 

Reporting into the Head of Nursing, for our award-winning homes, the Practice Development Nurse will take the lead in supporting, training and developing the clinical skills within our homes. This role has arisen at an exciting time for Orchard Care Homes as we launch our Nursing Strategy and a new clinical model of care for dementia.

 

You will take ownership of coordinating training, staff development at varied grade levels, and the implementation of clinical standards.  You will be integral to implementing and integrating our clinical models of care within our services with much of your time utilised in practice in our homes with our nurses and support staff.  In addition, you will be expected to monitor and lead improvements in standards of care.

 

Day to day activities will include training, conducting clinical audits to ensure competencies in line with the NMC framework, writing performance reviews, conducting assessments, record keeping, clinical supervision and mentoring.  In addition, you will provide information to staff and key stakeholders.

 

You will be core to the peer support network for both clinical and non-clinical staff and act as a role model for standards of behaviour and professionalism. You will be committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach and have evidence of leadership skills, previous mentoring and hold a mentoring qualification,  and ideally including sign-off mentor.
